Record Number of Women in Va Senate

A record high of 14 women will take office as state senators when the General Assembly convenes in January. The House of Delegates will have 34 women, four less than the previous session but still near its highest levels. This marks the first time that women will make up more than 1-in-3 members in both chambers of Virginia's legislature.
