Political Winds are Forever Shifting

In 2021, Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin was swept into office after all 133 Virginia localities saw a huge increase in GOP vote percentage compared to the 2020 presidential election. In 2022, the political winds shifted back somewhat in the Democrats' favor in all but 18 localities. The outcome of this year's General Assembly elections will depend in part on which way the political winds are blowing.
