Younger Senators Heading to Office

The new class of state senators taking office in January will be the youngest since 2008, with a median age of 54 years. This nearly matches the House of Delegates, with a median age of 53.5 years, an unusual occurrence for the upper chamber of the General Assembly which is usually composed of older legislators.
